With
the experience I have, I consider myself a good "fill
in" musician, especially when it comes to playing
the drums, but I'm ok with the guitar and bass as well.
I am a quick learner and can usually have a new song "down"
with minimal rehearsal time. Or, simply give me a recording
of the song/s and I can learn them on my own. I really
enjoy doing live shows and am also available for studio
sessions. Depending on the situation, It's likely I may
even do the occasion for free. So please contact me and
let me know what you may need me to "fill in"
on. |
PERFORMING
EXPERIENCE: I have been on a few tours
which allows me to say that I have performed in most every
state in the US as well as Japan. I have shared a stage with
a wide range of artists such as: Beck, The Flaming Lips, They
Might Be Giants, Lit, Eve 6, Kyoshi, Reel Big Fish, and The
Vandals to name a few. Most of my bigger performances were
with me playing the drums, but I also enjoy playing the guitar,
bass, and doing some vocals as well. The style of music I
am typically good with is rock, though I am familiar with
most other styles. I am good with playing along with a prerecorded
tracks/s if need be.
RECORDING
(ME) EXPERIENCE: I have had the opportunity
to record at many studios throughout Southern California.
Some of the nicer ones include: Ocean (Burbank), Paramount
Studios, MI (Musicians Institute), Citrus College, and Jab's.
I feel comfortable in the studio and I'm very good with recording
to a metronome, or "click track". I'm more of a
solid-rock-type drummer as opposed to a light-jazz-type of
drummer. As far as my guitar playing, well, I'm a good drummer,
so I tend to be better with guitar rhythms as opposed to crazy
technical guitar solos.
MUSICAL
GEAR: Currently, I own the following
gear: 1969 Slingerland black sparkle kit, 70's Ludwig blue
Vista Lite kit, pork pie 5-1/2 x 14 brass snare, Sabian /
Zildjan cymbals, 1976 Orange 80 watt combo amp, 1999 Gibson
Firebird guitar, Charvell acoustic/electric guitar, Roland
JV-30 keyboard, misc. effects pedals. The above gear is personal
choice stuff, but I am open to using and have access to other
gear for certain occasions, such as recording, a tour, ect...
